Andreas Blühm’s career includes leadership roles at the Groninger Museum and the Wallraf-Richartz-Museum & Fondation Corboud, where he oversaw transformative projects that have left a lasting impact on the cultural landscape.
Notably, in 2002, as Head of Exhibitions at the Van Gogh Museum, Amsterdam he organised Van Gogh & Gauguin: The Studio of the South. This exhibition attracted over 734,000 visitors and became the best-attended museum exhibition worldwide that year. Beyond curatorial achievements, Blühm has led the creation of corporate identities and the design of wayfinding systems. He has implemented digital strategies for multiple institutions, ensuring seamless and engaging visitor experiences.
In addition to his museum leadership, Blühm has been an influential academic, serving as Professor of Art History, Museums and Society at the Rijksuniversiteit Groningen. Through his teaching and mentorship, he has inspired and guided the next generation of curators, cultural managers, and educators.
